My Thoughts
I was not sure how I would like this book or not. I had read several reviews and decided I should see for myself. I have not read much Christian fiction in the past and never a Christian love story. I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book and did not want to put it down and the story got better as it went along.
This story is about love, forgiveness and being honest. Sam lives a pretty boring life in Boston and she is a janitor at the gym where her daughter take classes. Sam is made to feel terrible by her daughter for her job.
A death brings her back to her childhood home where she reconnects with an old friend, Landon who was her neighbor growing up. Spending time again with Landon brings many things to the surface for Sam, some things she would have rather left hidden.
The truth comes out about Sam’s daughter, Caden, why she left the sleepy town she grew up in & why Sam does not let anyone into her life. It is a great story.
Had there not been an interview in the back of the book with the author I would have never known that this story is an allegory, and it represents us & God. I did not see this, or feel this while reading the book.
I highly recommend this book to everyone.
